Worcester, Mass. - A Danielson, CT, man was arrested Sunday evening after a fight, and subsequent shooting occurred at a party on Young St in Worcester.
According to the Worcester Police Department, units were dispatched to the area of Young St at approximately 9:25 p.m. on Sunday, October 8th, 2023, for a reported gunshot victim in the area. Officers arrived to find a 19-year-old female victim on the ground surrounded by a large group of people. She was transported with non-life-threatening injuries.
Worcester Officers immediately began conducting an investigation and determined that a fight among several females occurred during a large party. A man on the scene, from Danielson, CT, pulled a handgun and discharged it, striking the female victim. The man was placed under arrest at the scene.
The Worcester Police went on to say the Danielson man was not licensed to carry the handgun in Massachusetts. The man has been charged with Armed Assault to Murder, Assault and Battery by Firearm, Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling, and Possession of a Firearm while in the Commission of a Felony.
