Plainfield Conn. - A Jewett City Man has died after striking a stone wall while operating his motorcycle Thursday evening.

At approximately 8:39 p.m. on Thursday, June 29th, 2023, emergency personnel were dispatched for a reported motorcycle versus a stone wall in the area of 154 Canterbury Rd. As the first units arrived, they reported the victim to be unresponsive in the roadway. Units began CPR on the scene prior to transporting the victim to Plainfield Backus Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
According to the Plainfield Police Department, the Jewett City Man was traveling westbound on a Yamaha YZF-R6L when he lost control of the motorcycle. The rider subsequently traveled off the roadway and struck a stone wall.
The crash remains under investigation by the Plainfield Police Department.
